I am speechless - Math Support Teachers, a valuable resource that has served our county schools for more than 15 years, have been cut from Howard County Public School's budget for 2019 - 2020. We were not given any advance notice.

Howard County Math-Nationally recognized presence in mathematics education....DESTROYED in less than 1 minute by a BOE vote!

What's the rationale for considering the use of math specialist/coaches? Let's count:1. support for teachers; 2. support for students; 3. being a school's resource for anything/everything math-related, and more. AND, the rationale for eliminating such positions? There is none!

Such a sad time for I have always thought was the best county! Disgraceful.
