We have hit the time of year when the BTO Acoustic Pipeline buckles under the strain of a few million Pipistrelles, and we the people in our thousands hope, in vain, that there’s a Barbastelle buried in there that our quick visual inspection failed to notice.

Finally, I got all the components onto one side, and JUST squeezed into @PCBWay's 100mm limit. With the headphone jack tucked underneath, π•pistrelle 5.3 is the easiest one yet to make, and to prove it I made 4 today, all worked first time, and the 4th one only took 15 minutes.

Couple of Noctules out while I was taking out the bins. The excitement never stops!

My final hand-build before this weekend's 'build your own bat detector' workshop. I made this one wrong - 2 seconds of inattention, 2 resistors on at 90 degrees to where they should have been, AGES to spot the mistake.

At least it happened today and not on Saturday😀

FOXY! LAPWING!! RAVEN!!! Actually 3 Ravens, tons of Brimstone, tons of Orange Tip, tons of Speckled Wood. And gazillions of Bluebells. Very glad to see see the back of that wet WInter.

Great Spotted Woodpecker using the power distribution box thingie in our back garden as a drum kit. He's been doing this for 3 years now, proudly the loudest, most resonant woodpecker in the neighbourhood. This through the closed kitchen window - it's LOUD in real life!!
