2/3 to showcase yourself. Include in the note content you may have written about a topic discussed in your interview (it shows you listened) or make reference to something going on in the news or the company where you interviewed that makes a relevant point... #CNNJobsChat

3/3 make every interaction substantive. Every so often send another piece of relevant content and ask for a critique or send a smart observation about content you read or saw at the company. That's a more creative way to nudge them you are still interested and here #CNNJobsChat

They are NOT necessary at all. We have hired many people at CNN who didn't have agents or we found them without the help of an agent. Agents are a very personal choice. They can be helpful but you need to assess what you need and want them to do for you...1/3 #CNNJobsChat
