Flood warnings remain on the River Severn all the way from Ironbridge to the Estuary, 4 days after the rain that caused it. Water recession rates being slowed by further local rainfall and high tides locking water in the lower reaches.

A wonderful #wildflowerhour! It’s been so interesting to see your finds. Next Sunday is the start of our challenge for the winter months - #thewinter10! How many wild or naturalised blooms will you find? Let’s meet again next Sunday to find out!! Happy flower spotting until then!

Quiet stroll in the #badlands of SP11 this afternoon. Despite the rather dull conditions turned up a shed load of wildlife, inc first decent flocks of Fieldfare so far this autumn.

⚠️ CAUTION! Video does not make for nice viewing. Sadly, it was not the only Whooper Swan under this stretch of wires. It was one of 18 dead! Powerlines, in certain areas, still pose deadly risks to our waterbirds. 2/3

😮 A rare find at Pamber Forest Nature Reserve 🔎 The tiny holly parachute fungus, marasmius hudsonii. This is the first record of it at Pamber Forest 🍃 It grows on dead holly leaves in the leaf litter and characterised by relatively long red hairs on the cap 📷 Chris Challis

Can anyone point me to the stats about wildflower seed availability for LNRS? I want to quote it for a report highlighting the value of well managed species-rich grasslands to generate donor material for local restoration projects. Joshua Styles Joanne Riggall Ian Ralphs any tips?

Joanne Riggall Joshua Styles Ian Ralphs For the Bar End Meadows Project, we're highlighting neglect on several mitigation areas, established when the M3 cut through #TwyfordDown. These sites were success stories, monitored by UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology but are now overgrown. Part of the rationalle for restoration is their role in LNRS.
