This past weekend was Canada’s Victoria Day Holiday. It’s not a holiday in the UK, but nonetheless a good opportunity to visit Osborne House on the Isle of Wight which served as Queen Victoria’s seaside home in the English Channel.

King Charles delivers the Speech from the Throne in Canada’s Parliament today, carried live on many media services across the world. This is the centrepiece of a strong, independent, properly functioning democracy - building for ourselves what no one else can ever take away.
