Strange as it may sound given their location but as the name implies Romanians consider themselves to be a Latin ppl. The language is very close to Italian. I’ve know this for a long time but was reminded once again today during a walk through Brasov.

One of the joys of travelling in Romania where we join family for Easter each yr, is the site of nests on top of electricity pylons, often built by the authorities for migratory birds like storks. The sight of these never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I wonder if food writers in London, paid to eat expensive meals ever go to 'normal' British pub. I do regularly & can say hand on heart that the most breathtakingly beautiful pub owned by corporations will 90% of time serve deep frozen deep fried shit.
