Access to medical treatment for cancer patients is limited across the country, leaving many Afghans without the care they need.

Today, I visited one of 50 daycare centres in Kabul supported by UNICEF Afghanistan & EUinAfghanistan.

The center offer nutrition counselling, treatment of malnutrition & cooking demonstration; playroom for #children and a chance for mothers to meet.

SCA is pausing its activities. The reason is a decree from the IEA which stopped all “Sweden’s activities” following the burning of copies of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

.⁦WFP in Afghanistan⁩ estimates there are 15m Afghans in dire need of food assistance, in crisis - but funding shortfalls required it to cut help to 10m people. 2/3s of those in need will not receive the food they need this winter. #EHF2024

With funding from EUinAfghanistan, WHO-supported 50-bed Infectious Diseases Hospital in Jalalabad, Nangarhar province is providing outpatient services to almost 10,000 people & inpatient services to up to 500 people from eastern region, including women & children, in a month.

'My family is waiting for me to get out of the hospital and join them as a new, healthy person”, said Abdul, a father of six.

With EU 🇪🇺 support, WHO Afghanistan provides in- and out-patient services to Afghans with substance addiction.
