We're suing the FDA.

For 6 years now, they are refusing to act on warning labels for antidepressants.

These antidepressants may cause permanent sexual dysfunction.

Hey FDA: Do your job!

This week, the FDA has been sued by Public Citizen for failing to act on claims that SSRI antidepressants can potentially cause severe sexual numbing & permanent sexual damage - (ie. Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction [PSSD]). Why has the FDA failed to act...?

Anyone know the exact date in history when every type of human suffering came to be NOT considered Real or Valid UNTIL it was diagnosed a medical illness?? I’m writing a blog on the history of the mental health system & just cannot pin that one particular date down. 🧐

If you want to check the maths, the rules we applied were:
✨Must have one or more of 1, 2a, or 2b
✨Must have five or more distinct 'parent' numbers
✨Can't include 3a w/ 3b, 3c w/ 3d, 4a w/ 4b, 5a w/ 5b, 9b w/ 9c, or 9b w/ 9d
✨9d must be with 9c (but 9c can occur without 9d)

There are 60,479,984(!!) ways MDD symptoms can be combined that result in two people who have no symptoms in common receiving an MDD diagnosis.

For example, A) low mood, weight gain, hypersomnia, fatigue, guilt vs. B) anhedonia, low appetite, insomnia, agitation, indecisiveness.

1. Radoslaw Stupak and I just wrote to Frontiers Psychiatry to clarify the undeclared conflicts of interest in this paper. Two authors work in a ketamine clinic and the senior author has/had several COIs with Janssen. It is not possible to submit a letter, unfortunately.

Thank you so much Mark Horowitz for doing this work.

It can't have been easy sticking your head above the parapet to produce these guidelines, but it adds a level of credibility and support to patients that need it where only ad-hoc and peer guidelines existed before.

Big love.

Response and remission rates in usual care are low, with the large majority of patients not responding or remitting, and the outcomes have probably not improved over time. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
