I think Edinburgh International Film Festival have played a blinder this year. They’ve definitely started a new and fresh identity with a clear support for talent at all stages in life. Not distracted by ‘new/young’ or the false promise of ‘discovery’ they have chosen films that have a resonance and

offered opportunity and rich discussion for filmmakers, audiences, academics and critics. Word on the street is that it is newly loved, replenished. Hope Andrew MacDonald and the new board nurture right back.
