Monksleaze has gradually been opened over the last few days as river levels have fallen diverting flows down the Sowy, we are now pumping at Long Load, Huish Episcopi, Midelney, Westover and Currymoor. Environment AgencySW

Pump outputs at all stations has been increasing this week as river levels have been falling, all pumps are now operating at Currymoor, HEPS and Westover. We are also pumping at all other Langport stations as much as possible reducing flood risk. Environment AgencySW

Pumping continued until approx. 21:30 on the 21st at all stations until river levels rose again on the Tone and Parrett forcing spillways to run as well as inhibiting pumping at all pumping stations. Levels in the T&P are still too high to pump this morning. Environment AgencySW
Monksleaze was opened this morning to allow pumping at some stations, we have turned on more pumps at various pumping stations during the day as levels have been falling, we are now pumping at all stations. Environment AgencySW Rachel Burden
Pumps were switched on at Currymoor this afternoon after levels in the Tone started to fall. Monksleaze was partially opened as Parrett spillways slowed. With dry weather ahead and tides falling, pumping will commence at all Langport stations as soon as possible. Environment AgencySW
Storm Bert is forecast for the weekend, Monksleaze & Dunball will be opened today to divert flows from the Parrett down the Sowy, this will allow pumping stations to pump for longer. Water levels were lowered to winter setting in late October, six weeks early! Environment AgencySW
Average rainfall totals of 24mm on Saturday and 24mm on Sunday are predicted for the Parrett and Tone Catchments. Environment AgencySW
