If you work at least 35 hours as per min requirements to get carers allowance that’s £81.90
Then, you manage somehow, to find a job doing 13 hours a week to ensure you stay under £151 you are “allowed” a week. That’s £232.90. So for 48 hours work, you earn £4.85 an hour 🧵

If we were paid min wage for those 35 hours min, then I could see the additional amount you work could be restricted. But we aren’t paid. And why should it be restricted. What is this? Some type of scheme to keep those who are caring for disabled relatives in poverty & ill 🧵

Are unpaid carers being treated like some sort of modern day version of a workhouse.
