Itโ€™s my first year Whipple-versary today! A lot has changed in a year. Some things never the same and I am grateful for a good recovery and no evidence of disease. Life is good! ๐Ÿ’œ

Iain was in his late 50s when he was diagnosed with cancer on the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas, almost 20 years ago. Thanks to early detection and treatment, he was given the all clear and tells us about life after the Whippleโ€™s procedure: pancreaticcancer.org.uk/real-life-storโ€ฆ

One of the least helpful things you can say to someone with stage 4 cancer is 'you will beat it'
No we won't, we will die from it. I know people mean well when they say it. It just reminds us we are fighting a losing battle.

Great session on but has got me thinking how do we create time for those delivering care to hear these stories, not just board level.
