RIP Ed Broadbent. He was one of the best. He got his PhD from Political Science for a thesis on “The Good Society of John Stuart Mill” supervised by C.B. Macpherson. Unlike other academics who couldn’t make the transition to partisan politics, Brodbent excelled. He made a difference.
