We had a visit from another magical friend last week. This time the Writing Elf left us a message to let us know that she had filled up our brand new Writing Shed with all sorts of goodies, from fancy pencils to cards and envelopes. We cannot wait to get writing!🧝♀️Fircroft Primary

To celebrate British Science Week #BSW22 one of our lovely parents came in to teach Reception all about the solar system. We learnt how craters on the moon are formed by dropping icy space rocks into flour and found out that Uranus smells like rotten eggs 😝Fircroft Primary

Science Week started with a bang on Monday when we got busy making seed bombs. Tear newspaper, soak, blend, add your seeds, strain through a tea towel, roll into little balls, dry in an ice cube tray. Seed bombs ready to scatter in our garden one day soon. #BSW2022 Fircroft Primary

The children loved celebrating #RedNoseDay today. They all came wearing something red and shared their best jokes with us. One particular favourite was - “Why shouldn’t you give Elsa a balloon? - Because she will just ‘Let it go’”😂 Fircroft Primary

The Grand Finale of #BritishScienceWeek was a special session in our beautiful Garden Hub with Beata, our resident expert gardener. We were busy bees filling pots, planting seeds, and writing labels. We can’t wait to see the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labour. Fircroft Primary

During World Maths Day last week, we went on a Treasure Hunt and solved mathematical problems to find a secret code. Once the code was cracked, we discovered a note from the maths pixie who had filled up our new maths shed with lots of exciting resources! Fircroft Primary

To mark the end of #BookWeek 📚, the fantastic poet King Kimba paid a visit to Fircroft Primary . Reception and [email protected] were lucky enough to have a special assembly with him where he performed some of his poems. ‘Bubble Guts’ was a particular favourite! 💨😳😆

What a busy start to the term! The children have had a great start to school by enjoying and exploring the provision indoors and outdoors! Fircroft Primary

Reception loved their trip to Holy Trinity Church, Upper Tooting to learn all about the #nativity. They retold the story using actions and drew pictures to represent all of the important people (and animals!) in the #ChristmasStory Fircroft Primary

[email protected] loved seeing Fircroft Primary in the snow yesterday! Lots of snowmen were built and snowballs thrown! #snow #winter #fun

As part of our ‘We are Explorers!’ topic, reception have been learning all about space. This week, they have been creating their own aliens and trying to describe them. They have been learning about the solar system, stars and constellations #space Fircroft Primary

We loved finishing our ‘We are Explorers’ topic with a trip to the Science Museum. Earlier this week, we enjoyed visiting [email protected] to find out what they had also been learning about space! Fircroft Primary

We had a fantastic time at Bocketts Farm Park today! We learnt all about the animals on the farm, fed the sheep, petted some smaller animals and of course there was some time for playing! Thanks to all the Fircroft Primary community who supported us with raising money for our coach!
