The band are preparing for one of our most poignant weekends as we provide musical support for the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association memorial (Cavalry Sunday) held in Hyde Park. This is an annual event that is one of the highlights of the band calendar. Photos: J Bull

The milestone anniversary is attended by His Royal Highness Prince Edward. The Duke of Edinburgh is The Royal Honorary Colonel of Royal Dragoon Guards who are sponsoring this year’s ceremony.

The The Band of The Royal Yeomanry and Household Cavalry Band leads marching detachments of serving and past members of the Combined Cavalry ranging from World War II to Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflicts.

Prince Edward lays the Combined Cavalry wreath at the Cavalry Memorial.                       His Royal Highness is the Royal Honorary Colonel of the Royal Wessex Yeomanry and the London Guards Army Reserve.

Over three thousand serving and former Cavalrymen, accompanied by their families and friends, took part in the parade and service. #cavalry #hydepark #royal

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh took the salute at the centenary parade and service of the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association in Hyde Park. More than 3,000 Cavalry Men & Women attended, most in traditional bowler hats, carrying furled umbrellas, honouring the fallen since WW1.

Last week, The Royal Yeomanry Band had the honour of performing at the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award ceremony at Buckingham Palace! It was a privilege to celebrate the remarkable achievements of these young awardees with our music in such a prestigious setting.

Back in early June the band attended our Annual Training Camp held at RAF Henlow. During this time we were honoured to provide musical support for The Royal British Legion's commemorative service marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day at The National Arboretum, Staffordshire.

Celebrating 75th anniversary of NATO and the strong links with the British Armed Forces, on Wed 14th August the German Air Force Band performs “Bonds of Friendship” with UK The Band of The Royal Yeomanry in the Guards Chapel. Starting at 7.30pm - it’s FREE. Do join us! #luftwaffensound @nato

Last night the band provided musical support for 81 Signal Squadron at the top of the BT Tower. A stunning venue for an ensemble! This was the first official performance for Musn Haffenden with the RY band since transferring from The Fusiliers Band
