Next up in our #RX2 Fan Poll Top Ten Countdown is a man who contested two full seasons in the series before returning in fine style in this year’s Danish double-header… 6th: Guillaume De Ridder Starts: 16 Titles: 0 Best Championship Finish: 2nd Wins: 3 Podiums: 9 Career Points: 347
De Ridder won twice in 2018, challenging olsbergsmse team-mate Oliver Eriksson throughout. After a season in FIA World Rallycross Championship with the GCK Academy, the Belgian returned to RX2 at Nysum this year and instantly blew away the cobwebs with a spectacular comeback triumph.
Things are getting serious now in our #RX2 Fan Poll Top Ten Countdown – we’re into the top five – and we begin with a driver who needs no introduction... 5th: Oliver Eriksson Starts: 14 Titles: 2 Best Championship Finish: 1st Wins: 8 Podiums: 10 Career Points: 368
The Swede got the better of olsbergsmse team-mate Guillaume De Ridder for the 2018 title, before doubling up with an even more commanding performance in 2019. Since then, Eriksson has clinched the coveted #RallyXNordic Supercar crown and took a clean sweep of EuroRX victories this year.
A man with more #RX2 starts under his belt than most, Gryazin was a permanent fixture in the FIA World Rallycross Championship feeder series from 2017 to 2019. A consistent contender from the outset with SRT, the Latvian achieved a podium in each season as he adapted his rally-honed skills to RX.
Following a season on the sidelines, Krogstad returned to RX2 for its one-off showdown this year with #YellowSquad, completing his road to redemption by clinching the coveted crown in a high-calibre field at Nysum – with it, securing the accompanying FIA RX2e Championship prize drive.
We continue to count down the top three in our #RX2 Fan Poll Top Ten, and next up, in spot No.2, is this ‘Flying Finn’… 2nd: Jesse Kallio Racing Starts: 9 Titles: 0 Best Championship Finish: 3rd Wins: 0 Podiums: 7 Career Points: 189
Kallio has one of the best podiums-to-starts ratios in RX2, with an impressive 78% strike rate. Debuting with olsbergsmse in 2019, the Finn served signal of intent by reaching the rostrum first time out in Barcelona. He would repeat the feat at each of the following four events.
Here it is, the moment you’ve been waiting for – where we reveal who you voted top in our #RX2 Fan Poll, from the 58 drivers that have contested the series since 2017… 1st: Cyril Raymond Starts: 7 Titles: 1 Best Championship Finish: 1st Wins: 6 Podiums: 6 Career Points: 198
Raymond entered the inaugural season of RX2 as the defending champ, having conquered the RX Lites crown the previous year. The olsbergsmse ace swiftly made it apparent that he had no intention of giving his title up, going on a spectacular run of six triumphs from seven starts.
In the only event he didn’t win – at Höljes – he led until he picked up a puncture, and he went on to wrap up the laurels one round early. The Frenchman has since gone on to race in EuroRX, FIA World Rallycross Championship and Projekt E, as he continues to prove himself as one of RX’s leading lights.
