There is one pretty unusual sighting on there, I'm not sure it has been verified though Taylor Swift ?!
Recent visitor Bob Howell captured these brilliant shots of Bittern in the reedbed RSPB Leighton Moss You can make out 2 birds in the 2nd image. We've heard the booming all spring, now our wardens are watching closely to see how they get on with breeding.
The refreshed café RSPB Leighton Moss is now open. We've also launched the new Spring/Summer menu. It's a great time to visit. The reserve is buzzing with Spring activity, Marsh Harriers + Bitterns flying around the reedbed, warblers singing, swifts + sand martins whizzing around
It's feeling very spring like RSPB Leighton Moss, today's highlights:
-butterflies - orange tip, brimstone, comma & red admiral
-lots of birdsong, the warblers are really getting going
-regular bittern flights across the site
-green woodpeckers in the field next to the visitor centre

The Nestbox is open for business at RSPB Leighton Moss. Whilst we get some work done in the cafe you can grab a drink and a snack at the new hut, christened the Nestbox. We're running a slightly reduced menu, there's still plenty of choice and the same top team serving you.
