Capercaillie can be very sensitive to disturbance, so we're working with Cairngorms National Park, Police Scotland and others to protect these iconic birds throughout the breeding season. Please do your part and #LekItBe.

Just back from Estonia with friends from RSPB Edinburgh Area LG and Wildlife Travel. Lovely countryside with lots of migrating cranes and sea ducks, but the highlight was a night in a bear hide. Great views of a mother and two cubs, briefly joined by a second bear with two cubs.

Excellent outing to RSPB Mersehead yesterday with the RSPB Local Group. Amongst the 0000's of geese (Barnacle, Pink-footed, Greylag) were two Snow Geese. Parasol Mushrooms in the dunes grassland really were the size of plates. RSPB Edinburgh Area LG
