150 citizens from across the Union met this weekend to discuss the challenges and benefits of energy efficiency.

In the final session, they drew up a list of recommendations that will feed into our upcoming initiatives ↓

A really interesting panel on the Energy Efficiency First Principle adopted 13 recommendations going from energy communities, labour skills to the energy grid: always impressive to see what such a diverse group of randomly selected citizens can achieve together in 3 weekends 👏

No need to say: I truly believe in the potential of the European Citizens’ Panels whichever topic they tackle but in this case, I feel more than ever that they provide a space - diverse, deliberative, respectful, collective - that is too absent in our democracies #NoPlaceForHate

The European Commission is organising a new #EuropeanCitizensPanel , which consists of 150 citizens from across the #EU & will deliberate on different ways to tackle hated in today's society.

Their recommendations shall inform policy proposals by the Commission on that topic. 👇

The European Commission citizens’ panel on hatred in society has started earlier today and I look forward in helping on whatever way I can. It has already been moving to hear citizens explaining what it means for them to be part of it : a political action , an action needed for EU

Today marks the start of the European Citizens’ Panel on Tackling Hatred in Society.

150 citizens will come together to look at the root causes of hatred and ways to address them.

The 2nd EU Citizens’ Panel on #EnergyEfficiency ⚡️ took place 15-17/3.

The discussions led to a draft set of recommendations, which will be finalised during the 3rd meeting on 12-14 April.

How to boost energy efficiency in the EU?

This afternoon and throughout the weekend, 150 randomly selected European citizens will debate and present their first ideas for solutions.

On #WomensDay , I pay tribute to the women paying the highest price for the #Gaza war. 70% of the casualties are women or children, 2 mothers are killed every hour. Israeli women are still held hostages. These figures are a tragedy within a mainly men-made tragedy that must stop.
