Stoked to travel with Global Languages and Innovative Programs for PUSD and other staff from Poway Unified to visit South Korea. Great opportunity to share our goal of inspiring passion and preparing every student to thrive in college, career, and life by providing personalized, rich and rigorous learning experiences.

The Poway Unified Korea Delegation has arrived safely in South Korea. We are ready for a week of collaboration and discussions with our Korean counterparts while also exploring and learning about Korean culture. Exploring global citizenship this afternoon with Ernest Remillard and Global Languages and Innovative Programs for PUSD at the Chungcheongbuk-do International Education Institute. They are using education as means to tackle global problems related to environmental & social issues. Great day of exploration and learning.

Just a few of the many awe inspiring settings in Gyeongju City. We spent yesterday exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site and learning of the history of the Silla dynasty. Today we make our way north to vast metropolis of Seoul, the capital city of South Korea.

Looking forward to seeing many from the Design39Campus & the Collaborative tomorrow as we kick off the year with LEAP: Love, Energy, Audacity, & Proof. Great chance to ground our staff & new LEDs in what it means to be a courageous educator, using Ashish Goel's text to guide us.

Tomorrow the outstanding staff of Design39Campus returns from summer, marking my second year as a Design Facilitator, and my twenty-first year as an educator. In the fantastic words of my friend and mentor, @BjornPaige, "Let the wild rumpus start!"

Two fantastic days of professional development and away we go! Design39Campus and Poway Unified are excited to kick off this school and provide our students a world class education. Our LEDs and staff are ready and eagerly awaiting our students to arrival tomorrow morning!

Year-end celebrations are in full swing! Poway High School AVID celebrated seniors. Valley Elementary held their annual Comic Con. Design39Campus hosted “39 by Design” and the PowayCTE Expo was a huge success. And check out pietastic celebration for Meadowbrook MS. #PowayUnified

Today is Green Day at Design39Campus for #startwithhelloweek in support of Sandy Hook Promise. Since we use songs instead of bells, all songs today will be by Green Day. We will teaching students to build connections while learning to rock.

This morning, Design39Campus hosted our first ever Scripps National Spelling Bee. Looking forward to one of our learners W-I-N-N-I-N-G it all!
