As spatial computing continues to advance, I’m excited to see what new sports and activities are on the horizon. Recently I got the chance to play REK, a sports2.0 prototype that uses #VR passthrough to have opponents battle one another. 💪 #esports

I wholeheartedly believe #VR eSports should involve physical movement. Who wants to watch people stand still in one spot on stage? The whole point of VR is being able to actually immerse yourself in the activity. It won’t be entertaining to the masses until it’s fun to watch.

I saw the investor letter toward Meta to reduce their "Metaverse" investments. And for once I agree with Zuck. He should dig in. He has no choice. The few things holding back Meta and how they can improve. I say all this with love for the XR space:

VR sports companies are doing very well. ForeVR Bowl just raised 10 million. GOLF+ just raised 6 million. Gym Class just raised over 8+ million. Other VR sports also raised who haven't announced. This is the a16z effect.

OK I have never posted any AI generated art yet. But Midjourney v4 is insanely good. This was first prompt for simply "augmented reality sport headsets". My god these are truly amazing.
