@NYCtaxi sabotaged its well-designed min pay standard for gig drivers this spring by exceeding licensing limits. Experienced drivers are effective at detecting, debunking algorithmic wage suppression & theft schemes - and recommending effective fixes. Not too late to listen!

The gig economy is indicative of the problem. You don't have shitty wages because of migrants, you have shitty wages because the govt lets companies like Uber get away with the hyper-exploitation of all workers, white and black, migrant and non-migrant. x.com/Ben_Wray1989/s…

As in Toronto, LA uber workers support a limit to licensing. Instead, this province & our city sponsors uber's plan to flood the market with drivers until pay disappears. With that comes other major negative impacts on the environment, traffic, road safety and transit. 👇👇👇
