The sneaky street car parking charges Kingston's LibDems kept quiet when forcing through their budget, now revealed. Increases from £1.10 per hour to £3.30 per hour, and higher. At the same time as a maximum Council Tax increase. Further parking increases to be announced soon...

A lovely morning for the Coombe Hill ward Councillors (and wonderful helpers) to go out talking with residents about any local concerns they have. Issues raised included traffic, parking, and crime concerns - which we will take up with the excellent Coombe Hill Police team.

Traffic backed up past the hospital, and hardly moving. Mainly due to lane closures caused by building work at the new development opp Kingston station. Lane closures at any time will cause major issues, but to allow it during the peak rush hours is crazy. 🚧🚗🚌🚐🚓

I was prevented from speaking in the debate about the tripling of Kingston's parking charges. The LibDems took a terrible rushed decision behind closed doors. They are now making minor changes, again made in secret before the meeting. I predict another dogs-dinner of a decision.

Lots of residents at Kingston's council meeting tonight in support of the petition against the tripling of car parking charges. The LibDems arranged for it to be debated, with most residents forced to sit in an empty hall next door. The LibDems don't care about the residents.
