#OTD 105 years ago, the Battle of the Somme began. British forces suffered 19,240 fatalities on that first day and gained just three square miles of territory. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. UBIQUE #RoyalArtillery #WW1 #lestweforget2021

With the school Summer Holidays fast approaching, I’ve added this to my ‘places to visit’ list. I wonder if their underground tunnels are lovely and cool… #daysoutwithkids #FortNelson #royalartillery

Popped over to Chippenham yesterday to see this a fantastic crew of people bringing the Civil War to life. They were entertaining, engaging & really knew their stuff. Thank you Sir Marmaduke Rawdon’s Regiment of Foote for your brilliant display. #ChippenhamMuseum #royalartillery

#fridayfeeling This afternoon I’ll be cataloguing a recent donation of eight porcelain figures. I think the one labelled Royal Horse Artillery 1970 looks very smart. Which one is your favourite? #royalartillery #royalhorseartillery
