Play Staff NHSG_RACH 💙 organise and provide a varied play and recreational programme. Yesterday, families & patients enjoyed a science workshop with Aberdeen Science Centre. Last week we learned about herbs & gardening with Dobbies. Thank you to both these places for your support.

Great fun was had at the Medical/Surgical Sports day NHSG_RACH 💙. Fun, exercise, smiles, laughter and team work. Thank you to all the patients, families and staff who got involved. Huge well done to the play staff for organising such a positive day.

The sun is shining and you have got to attend your hospital appointment, oh well at least the Play staff are there to keep me busy.

What is it about play that makes it such a vital component for a child who is spending time in hospital? 📊 Playing has therapeutic and healing effects, supporting children to cope, to be more engaged, and to have some control in what can otherwise overwhelming circumstances.

Wow a busy Monday, we had fun with Active schools Active Schools Aberdeen, Art room GHAT and we even tried to get the sun to come out by making our own designer sunglasses!

We recently received a new RockinR Gaming cart from the fabulous team TheRockinR Gaming Charity. This unit was funded by Lenny's family. Some of them came in to try it out and loved it. Thanks to all involved in this very generous donation.
