Today I whisk you back to a misty Edwardian morning and this wonderful autochrome by Julien Gรฉrardin. It was taken around 1910 and (to my mind) seems to show a lady playing hide & seek behind a tree. What story does it say to you? It is original colour (not colourised).

Baroque architecture is most strongly associated with the opulent Catholic churches and royal palaces of the Continent; however, the style had a brief flowering in late 17th century Britain, particularly in the form of funerary monuments inside parish churches.

Alongside cars, steam trains are also a massive passion of mineโ€ฆ so standing on platforms at 10pm, waiting for Sir Nigel Gresley (60007/4498), to show up is completely normal. Not the worldโ€™s best video. Steam train smell not included. But by Jove, the worldโ€™s best feeling.

Just heard a blackcap singing on Holmwood Common. I recorded it, but the first but I heard was far louder and nicer..... So beautiful!

The weather today was unreal. Biblical. I had to spend hours moving things to find indoor space for every lamb thatโ€™s already been born. Fair to say though that theyโ€™re pretty happy about it.

Listening to music from B's new album being played on internet radio. Feels really different from just hearing it at home. Exciting!
