After seeing 'The Absence of Eden' this morning, I'm reminded that while Zoe Saldaña has been terrific in huge franchise blockbusters, she's a versatile character actor as well. Her work in 'Eden' might just be the best of her career. (Review coming this week.)

Zoe Saldaña, Garrett Hedlund and Adria Arjona star in sordid immigration drama THE ABSENCE OF EDEN. Great performances, striking imagery, but it mostly just replicated the tropes seen in countless other border-set movies.
