Once I was deep in the flow of boxing, so deep that when I struck it felt like ringing out the letters of my name from a bell. I'm always chasing that resonance again.

The “gut punch” can refer to a few different blows. Typically you would use this to refer to a low hook, an uppercut to the body, or the hybrid “shovel hook”. The gold standard hits the liver (vagus nerve) which drops an opponent to the ground. Solar plexus is great but elusive.
