Why should I do research for orgs that don't actually care about equity or inclusion? I'm tired of giving y'all ideas & pushing support when MY RESEARCH SHOWS that your "community engagement" work isn't equitable or inclusive. Can't wait to finish my dissertation Audubon Society

3 / 5 of these faculty are scientists. This right-wing movement is generally anti-intellectual, and us in STEM can't pretend like it won't come for us

As one of the original members of the #BlackBirdersWeek team, here's my 2 cents on why the movement and creating safe spaces for #BlackJoy in nature is so important. Centering my culture in birding is one of the many ways I fight for Black liberation. I want to be #FreeAsABird

Proud to have played a small part in this big group project led by Marlee Tucker to use animal tracking data to evaluate the effect of the #COVID19 lockdown on mammals. Also excited to have a coyote on the cover! FER @NC State NC Museum of Natural Sciences Movebank

A new study is underway to characterize risks for migratory birds as they travel north in the spring, and south in the fall. Jin Bai is studying factors that could increase the risk of bird collisions with windows, especially for migratory birds. ncst.at/sLyL50P6anO

Using 20 years of band-resight data collected as a part of the Neighborhood Nestwatch Program (NN), a #citizen science project run by Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center at 242 sites in greater Washington, D.C. USA, we estimated apparent survival & documented species-specific relationships w/ light and noise.
