15 mins shore time today and removed two drills (!) batteries and powered devices, sealant and 2 spoons! 'Over the side' may be over but accidents still happen, and that's a lot of chemistry in the marine environment. And losing the corkscrew is a major disaster! Solent Seascape Project

As I'm very much an invertebrates/microscopy kind of guy, I've fairly successfully avoided the dark and obsessive perils of ornithology all my life. So imagine my shock, today, when I realised that I'd just stood and counted 70 dark-bellied Brent geese on Stoke Lake, Gosport!

Cuttlefish in the late Cretaceous era preferred seagrass as their home. They thrived in seagrass meadows during the Econe period, finding food, shelter, and a place to breed. Preserving these seagrass habitats is crucial for cuttlefish conservation worldwide.
