Jack M Silverstein Peirce Conboy Corey Stolzenbach PFHOFCanton_Paul Except there wasn't a protest until Year 4 or 5, when Dwight was voted down in the Final 5. Z advocated for Stephenson, but he was also advocating for Dave Casper, and Cliff Harris, and 10 other guys that made the Final 15. As you said, there are so many HOF battles

The 1920 Akron Pros, the 1st champs (back when it was called the American Professional Football Association). That's Fritz Pollard in the bottom row on the far right. 3rd from the left up top is Al Nesser, the last player who didn't wear a helmet *or* shoulder pads.

Adam Connelly Corey Stolzenbach Dr. Z made AP teams for the last 10 years of Mick's career.
The Associated Press gave him 1 AP, Dr Z gave him 0. Perhaps he was making them prior and not publishing.
At the end of the day he had 1 HOF vote like everyone else, and I think he wasn't even a voter for Koochs last yr.

Peirce Conboy Corey Stolzenbach Should note - Dr. Z was charting games well before he started making All Pro teams. When he selected his All Century Team, he said he had graded every player on it, but Hutson (and did a special trip to track down film for Don.)

Richmond Webb was a historic Pro Bowl choice as a rookie, back before the fan vote. He was the first rookie offensive tackle in the PB since the merger and the first rookie left tackle in the PB since 1955.

Sports Illustrated came close to naming Webb 1st team All Pro.
