👉"Sitting in this Presentation will shorten your life by a minute!" 👉"Bacon & sausages at breakfast might as well be 3 cigarettes!" 👉"For women, getting fat is as dangerous as terrorists!" ? Or is that hysterical moralistic scaremongering ? 👇FIND OUT👇 youtube.com/watch?v=OHcOiF…

That’ll be around half the current recommended weekly number of active minutes (77 vs 150) - much more achievable, and 10% of early deaths saved is a huge public health gain. So why do ‘expert groups’ insist on persisting with a completely ineffectual 150mins/week recommendation?

‘It’s done! Friday morning’s EASM Keynote is all ready …and would you like to guess the answers to the questions? It’s not too far from “NO” and “NOT ENOUGH” #EASM2023

Some questions I’ll be exploring in Friday morning’s EASM keynote: (i) Does sport disproportionately impact climate change? (ii) Can sport combat climate change? (iii) What is sport’s appetite for change? #EASM2023

Five years on from my last EASM keynote at EASM Conference 2018, why is #CallingBullOnSport still necessary? Find out about the things sport doesn’t want to take responsibility for in my #EASM2023 keynote at 9am tomorrow (Friday) morning.

The EASM organisers have videoed the #EASM2023 keynotes, and will be making them available next week. I'll post a link in my feed when they're available.

Sport presented as the victim, Prof. Rob Wilson ⚽️💷 & Dan Roan when really its the villain - as I showed at EASM's #EASM2023 this AM, sport's carbon footprint exceeds that to be expected of a sector of its size by at least 50% - part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Professor Mike Weed | #PolicyAndEvidence (@profmikeweed) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Thanks Dan Roan - the problem is structural rather than the emissions of this or that event... & carbon emissions of everyday sport participation (due to sheer volume of travel generated) dwarf that of even the largest sport event or league. Sport needs a transformational rethink

Couldn’t agree more, Iain Lindsey - what these people share is that, in comparison to the general population, they are “freaks” with abnormal abilities and experiences about as far removed from the challenges of those who are inactive as it is possible to be.

Just two weeks ago from the Plenary Platform at EASM, I asked “Does Sport Care Enough about #ClimateChange?” x.com/profmikeweed/s… Clearly, in FIFA’s case, the answer is “NO!” This 👇 is a ludicrous (and wholly hypocritical) decision. #EASM2023
