I don't think we really understand what is happening in Ontario right now and by extension the entire country...again, do we have a government or not?

Extremely well written article: "The arrival of endemicity is actually the beginning—of a long and complicated relationship between a pathogen and its host population. En demos. In the people." A must-read for all politicians!! #SARSCoV2 #COVID19 theatlantic.com/health/archive…

"To say that the pandemic will give way to endemicity is to suggest a single end point; saying that SARS-CoV-2 will become endemic suggests that what comes next is up to the pathogen alone. But the post-pandemic phase will be shaped by the choices and actions we make."

I also want to add the concept of "hyper-endemicity" here: a disease which is constantly and persistently present in a population at a high rate of incidence and/or prevalence. This could also be one version of our hope of #endemicity #SARSCoV2 #COVID19

We'd like COVID testing and tracing again. Also RATs. Also vaccination mandates for schools. Also freely and readily available N95 masks. And ventilation standards, incentives, and rebates.
