Some Syrian friends in Beirut already on road to Damascus. No one ever wants to be a refugee, live in a foreign land, close or far but no one wants to live under murderous regime, risk prison or death. Friends in Damascus reporting celebrations on streets. It's 5.30 am there.

The future of Syria will depend on the women of Syria.   Their role in rebuilding their country is vital. Our confidence in potential partnership depends on their leadership of it. Rayan, Alya, Zainab, Jamila, Heba must be heard. Their courage and dignity must be recognised.
