Fantastic and inspiring #EMBOmarineImaging in Naples at the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn with microscopists, marine biologists, cell biologists and EMBLtrec. Thanks to EMBO and Moore Foundation for their support, speakers, and Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn.
An amazing meeting focused on imaging in marine organisms - at one of my favorite marine station.. literally surrounded by history. #EMBOmarineimaging with Ellie and Hannah from the lab.
Excited to start playing with our latest toys: Three (!) mini fluorescence microscopes from Cephla that fit in an incubator to track individual worms from birth to death. Thanks Hongquan Li PrakashLab for developing and helping us to get started!
Great work from our awesome outreach scientist Jenny Grossman (she/her) 🐙 and Atomic Hands highlighting and making our starfish project accessible to a broader group of people.
Wonders of #Foldscopeing . Is this a flat worm or an amoeba. I will vote for a folded flat worm. Look at that peripheral ciliary flow 👀 kudos M. Pandiarajan
Xavier Trepat the beautiful PrakashLab work on microsporidian polar tube ejection (which serendipitously just came out in eLife - the journal)…300 um/s!
Our group’s science fest activity was a great success! Thanks to grad students Swagata Swagata Bhattacharyya , Hunter, and Navin for hosting the events!
Looking forward! Feel so lucky and grateful to go to Naples, collect plankton in this inspiring and historical place where pioneering work has been done on Radiolaria (Haeckel) and symbiose (Brandt). Thanks Niko Leisch and AML EMBLtrec . Can't wait to join #wefreezeonthebeach group
