Balmoral Castle, posted to Mrs Breach, Forest Gate. Just a line to let you know we are all OK after this last lot. I cannot come to help you. I am very sorry. The card was sent during WWI and a couple of days after the area suffered an attack by German bombers. #PostedInThePast

Swanage, posted in 1925 to Minehead: Thank you very much for the nice letter that you both sent me. It was so nicely worded. I now have it on my table to make me think of you both. Love from Auntie. #PostedInThePast

Visited a Probus group near Sherborne this morning. This was my second visit and I'm booked again for February next year. This talk didn't begin with a postcard but I managed to sneak a few in...

The Landsdowne, Bournemouth, sent to Paris in 1906: "I will write you in a few days time. Accept my love and salutations for your dear mother and yourself. A thousand thanks for photos. Your mother is much younger and prettier than photos."

A whistle-stop visit to NTKingstonLacy today on my way back from Wimborne. I wanted to check some details before the house is rested for the winter (probably be back before then, but just in case…).

What is revealed through postcards sent by our ancestors? This talk, part of #AATP24, looks at the messages and opens the door to history in a way that’s far from black and white. Visiting London, the destruction of WWI, murderers and heroes – going beyond ‘wish you were here?’.

Lynmouth, sent to Yorkshire: Visited Culbone Church – only 35' long & seats 15. Pushed bikes all the way. It seemed miles and miles! We had a glorious ride across Exmoor with heather and gorse in profusion on the moors – beautiful!! Lynmouth has changed since we saw it in 1934.
