DARK PhD student Danial Langeroodi is leading new research with #JWST finding that galaxies at redshift ~8 (~650 million years after Big Bang) contained only one tenth of the ‘metals' (heavier elements, such as carbon, oxygen, silicon, iron) they contain today. 1/4 Science at VILLUM

Danial Langeroodi and Jens Hjorth from DARK (in collaboration with Zhoujian (ZJ) Zhang), have discovered three distant brown dwarfs in #JWST spectra. Brown dwarfs are self-radiating, cold, substellar objects that more closely resemble giant planets, like Jupiter, than typical stars.
