It was great to welcome the team from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance (DSAA) today to conduct some joint training with our RNLI volunteers. 🚁

Our paths sometimes cross during rescue scenarios and it was great to meet and share lifesaving skills.

We’ll share more pictures of the training soon.

We’re pleased to announce that today, plans have been approved for the installation of the ‘La Roof Lip’ slide at Poole Lifeboat Station.

The new slide will allow our RNLI volunteers save vital seconds during an emergency launch.

Poole Lifeboat was requested to launch at 2:30pm today (March 31) by UK Coastguard to a yacht fouled on a marker buoy in Studland Bay with a crew member also needing evacuation.

⏰ This weekend Poole RNLI volunteers are not offering a full 24/7 service and will only offer 23 hours on-call time Sunday.

It’s rare not to offer a 24/7 service, however, this is your reminder that the clocks spring forward in the early hours of Sunday morning. 😊 ⏰

Our very own volunteer, Steve Nelson, is urging anyone heading out to stay safe as #StormNelson sweeps in on Thursday.

Steve said: ‘With gusts reaching up to 70mph in some coastal areas, take care as large breaking waves could sweep you off your feet.’
