We’re honored to feature chuutsqa L. Rorick, a Hesquiaht First Nations scholar, educator, and language revitalization leader with a PhD in Education and an MEd in Indigenous Language Revitalization from the University of Victoria!

We’re thrilled to feature Anna Marie Sewell, an award-winning multi-genre writer and performer of Mi’gmaq, Anishinaabe, and Polish descent, whose work thrives at the intersection of culture, language, and artistic collaboration. She also served as Edmonton’s 4th Poet Laureate!

We’re excited to feature Raymond Sewell, a poet, songwriter, and educator from Pabineau First Nation. His work blends poetry and song lyrics, drawing from his cultural roots and lived experiences. He is dedicated to education and storytelling as an English literature professor.

We’re honored to feature Allie Tibbetts, a citizen of Nagaajiwanaang, the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, and a dedicated children’s book author, poet, and language advocate. Allie helps teach and learn the Ojibwe language with children.

Welcoming Edmonton’s new Poet Laureate, MEDGINE MATHURIN! Medgine is a Haitian-born spoken word artist and patient advocate. Her poems reflect her journey towards self-love, life as an immigrant, and her lived experience navigating the world with an ‘invisible’ chronic illness.
