Yes, Republicans want to make voting harder and that can be ironic, but sometimes vote suppression laws are specifically targeted at Democratic groups: not allowing student ids count as valid id, banning Sunday early voting when Black churches do mobilization, etc.

Let's be clear about what happened. The Voting Rights Act was put in place to stop racist whites from gerrymandering Black ppl out of representation. Two Trump appointees just said that requirement of the VRA violates the Equal Protection Clause by discriminating against whites.
