We have arrested a man in his 40s following a shooting in Banbridge tonight.

Meanwhile, the injured man, who was shot in the abdomen, remains in a serious condition in hospital. Cordons and road closures will stay in place tonight.

We are currently at the scene of ongoing incident in the Rathfriland Road area of Banbridge. The off-slip and on-slip to the A1 dual carriageway at the flyover are both closed. The Drone Hill Road in Corbet is also closed with police in attendance. Will update in due course.
