Word that’s making me smile today: eclipse. Its roots are in an ancient Greek word meaning to abandon or to go missing. A solar eclipse is the moment when the earth is abandoned by the sun.

This is part of what I'm seeing with my students as well! I also see them using words from my 'Delicious Words' daily lessons in their poetry from these prompts. They are realizing how it's all connected! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

If you think his book is magical, you should hear him interacting with kids! He spoke to my writing camps last summer, and the littles (grades 3-5) were absolutely beaming after interacting with Joseph about their poetry. I suspect the 6-9 graders were too, but secretly. πŸ˜‰πŸ’œ πŸ’œ
