Word that’s making me smile today: eclipse. Its roots are in an ancient Greek word meaning to abandon or to go missing. A solar eclipse is the moment when the earth is abandoned by the sun.

This is part of what I'm seeing with my students as well! I also see them using words from my 'Delicious Words' daily lessons in their poetry from these prompts. They are realizing how it's all connected! 💜💜💜

If you think his book is magical, you should hear him interacting with kids! He spoke to my writing camps last summer, and the littles (grades 3-5) were absolutely beaming after interacting with Joseph about their poetry. I suspect the 6-9 graders were too, but secretly. 😉💜 💜
