Shane Carter, director of KSDE's Teacher Licensure, is providing an update on the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program (RTAP). KSDE implemented a small pilot during the 2023-2024 school year and opened the RTAP program statewide during the 2024-2025 school year.

Liz Plunkett, Syracuse Elementary School principal, Syracuse USD494 Syracuse School District, said thanks to the Registered Teacher Apprenticeship Program, the district is now able to fill two teaching positions.
