📈How do you scale a database from small to huge? Vertical scaling, replication, and sharding are commonly used techniques on the journey to scale. Our most recent video gives an overview these challenges and how Vitess solves them all. youtube.com/watch?v=O3EK7e…

We just added a new metric to Insights: max_latency. This column show the maximum response time of any individual query pattern in the selected time window. Maximum is a useful metric for spotting extreme outliers that may not show up in p99 (99th percentile).

Been working on this for 2 months, and it's finally ready to share! This piece not only *describes* how B-trees and database indexes work, but gives you the opportunity to interact with them, reinforcing the concepts, and providing a bit of fun along the way. Link in thread.
