With whatever twitter reach I have I invite members of the Harvard community to join me in supporting the survivors who have recently filed a lawsuit against Harvard for failing to act against sexual harassment and intimidation from Professor John Comaroff. (1/3)

Things Harvard could have said in its statement today but notably didn't (because they would be false): "When we learn of potential misconduct, we promptly investigate it." "We would never hire a faculty member if we had information they were a predator." ...

The real "chilling effect" is seeing Harvard use its institutional power and resources to once again publicly shame and intimidate survivors. Nobody is to blame for the students' lack of trust in Harvard University other than Harvard, and suggesting otherwise is insulting at best.

the last work i did during my in-between years before the pandemic hit: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… loved the chance to use chemically-induced dimerization as a chemical switch for PTP activity & thrilled to share co-first authorship with a beloved Amherst Softball teammate!

Harvard University found that anthropologist John Comaroff violated its sexual harassment policies. He’s teaching this term anyway. Accountability means more than a slap on the wrist. Come to our rally on September 6 at 3 PM in the Science Center Plaza and tell Harvard

...and i would like to know which faculty is this prof's source here at Harvard. the only faculty I know that have expressed "trouble" with the union are those that have been sanctioned for sexual misconduct or faculty that support these profs.

On Tuesday (12/6) at 11am, this lawsuit will reach a pivotal hearing in court. HGSU stands firmly behind Amulya, Margaret, & Lilia as they lead a historic fight against harassment to transform higher ed. We encourage anyone who can attend to support them with us - DM for details.

The U.S. Department of Education just granted Baylor University a Title IX exemption for sexual harassment. This is the first time that a university has requested a religious exemption to permit sexual harassment and the first time the DoED has granted such a request. (🧵)

A member of our union requested $17,000 from our $100,000 legal defense fund a month ago. Harvard has still not given them a decision on this request. Please help to support this student in accessing legal counsel. 🧵 gofundme.com/f/lawyer-for-a…

Our local has voted by a membership-wide asynchronous vote to sign on to two letters regarding current events in Palestine. We will join the UAW rank-and-file call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) and United Electrical’s call for a ceasefire. Links in thread.

We asked people who lived in homeless encampments that were cleared out in city “sweeps” to write about what object was the hardest for them to lose. “They took my baby pictures and my moms obituaries,” a 29-year-old in California wrote. propub.li/3VVlbGc
