My prayers go out to all those who were affected by the monstrous fire which occured in Sattola Bosti in Dhaka’s Mohakhali. To my understanding, hundreds of shanties and homes were destroyed. We hope to rebuild the area soon.

Masks must be worn by all. As such a densly populated country, we ALL need to do at least this to keep all safe. To further enforce this, we have decided to increase the fines for non mask wearers in public places as we need to send this message.

I am echoing the words of AK Momen when I say that there are several urgent steps that need to be taken in solving the Rohingya crisis and we, along with the leaders of Plaid China are working as hard as we can.

In an effort to relay the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs: a proposal was approved in principle to follow the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) for procuring the coronavirus vaccinations, meaning we as the government will by them directly.

I would like to express my strongest disappointment in Mohasin Ali, an office assistant at the attorney general’s office, who was demanding bribes from a lawyer. He has since been suspended. Public officials should not act in these matter. Absolutely shameful!
