Know yourself, Grow Yourself is the theme of #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek 🌱 At Big Hearts, we provide a safe space for young people to be themselves, understand emotions and build resilience. By listening, supporting, and encouraging, we aim to help young minds grow stronger. ❤️

💛Last year during #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek STV Children's Appeal visted one of our Glasgow partner schools to hear more about the amazing work our counsellors are doing to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. Here's what they heard. 👇

"This Children’s Mental Health Week, why don’t we ask young people what they think is the best way for them? After all, it’s their life." We think Sam's spot on! Great article from one of Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland's Young Advisor's for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek

Thank you Martin Whitfield MSP for lodging a motion in Scottish Parliament to recognise #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek! Children, schools and families can get involved here: childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk

"To support children and young people to develop self-awareness and to understand and express their emotions, teachers need to be well supported too." - Our Director Fiona McFarlane on reflective practice in Tes Scotland #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek tes.com/magazine/teach…

🎨 Look at this amazing art created by Holy Cross Primary in Glasgow for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek! The activity encouraged children to learn more about themselves by imagining a plant in growth. 👩🎨 Want to try the activity? ❓Did you know we can provide training and support for school staff, senior leaders, and parents or carers? ✉️ Get in touch to find out how we can support your school or local authority at [email protected]

💛 Thank you Roz McCall MSP for highlighting our work in the #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek debate, as well as the need to support children's mental health early in primary schools.

🤔 How do we improve children's mental health in Scotland and move the conversation beyond waiting lists? 📢 Our Director for Scotland, Fiona McFarlane, shared her thoughts on the reformscotland think tank's blog. reformscotland.com/nhs2048/rethin…
