I have so many shots of bears that are close up, highlighting the magnificent animal, but haven't posted as many of the bears in the broader landscape of Katmai N.P. So here ya go!

We've had a lot of great interest in our Bears of Katmai workshop for 2025 since it was just announced. This gives you a bit of an idea what the experience could be like. This bear kept coming at us, I guess wondering if we were floating snacks. Eventually it changed course

in honor of today, one shot of the moon that I kind of like. I didn't shoot the last eclipse here, instead opting to enjoy the full experience without worrying about photography. I'm glad I did.

Been going through images from Alaska and reliving some amazing experiences. Can't wait to get back there in 2025. This bear was lunging after a group of salmon and didn't manage to catch any on this attempt. It kept trying though and eventually got a snack.

Ever wanted to fly in a bearplane? Load 'em up! During my last workshop in Katmai NP, a huge amount of bears hung out between us and our ride to back to the lodge. We just had to wait them out before we could fly back.
