Just about published a paper (buff.ly/3Ww75MT) where I estimate that 8 publishers received USD $5.420 billion in article processing charges. Later, I suggest that these funds could be better spent by the funding agencies setting up their own journals. Thoughts?

Can not studying popular genes cost you your career?!
Check out how the probability of a junior scientist to transition to a principal investigator is lower if the genes they research are less studied. The overall decreasing probability is also really depressing! (from Fig. S10)

Just presented at and now available to read: We accelerate FLIM by a factor of 10-100 using single objective light-sheet microscopy and SPAD array detection. This allows us to do 3D (time-lapse) FLIM on organoids and lifetime unmixed imaging.

Did you ever think about getting started with two-photon excitation (TPE) microscopy?
It is a great time and fun🙃🔬
Therefore, we put some of the basics, trends, and pitfalls in fluorescence and TPE microscopy together. Now out in Communications Biology

Our📰 in PNAS now on how the ER shaped as nanoscopic pipework powers Ca2+ firing

Explains why ER is shaped as a tubular network🕸️🔬and how ER defects cause neurodegeneration🧠?

It’s all about Ca2+
