Detectives are investigating a serious injury collision where a 2001 Silver Mitsubishi Montero was seen hitting and seriously injuring an 11-year-old girl who was crossing the street in a marked school zone near 19th St and Roeser Rd.

Tolleson Police Sgt. Mendez helps solve a #PHXPD case with the help of Silent Witness. Sgt. Mendez was reviewing news stories when he saw Silent Witness was looking for a suspect, he had previously arrested in Tolleson. His sharp memory and quick action helped crack the case!

Officers were called to Maryvale High School earlier this morning for a threat to the school. These threats were quickly investigated and found not to be credible. Lockdown at the school was lifted, however officers will continue to have presence at the school throughout the day.

PIO will be providing an update at approximately 12:30 P.M. in front of Phoenix Police Headquarters downtown regarding the officer involved incident last night.
